Friday 19th November 2021.  10am (for 10.30am start) until 3pm.

This workshop will allow you to develop the key skills and knowledge to enable you to referee walking football safely and effectively.

This interactive and practical session will cover the Laws and how to manage the game. It will be split between classroom theory learning and live refereeing of games to provide the best insight into the requirements of the role.

Upon successful completion of the course, learners will understand the key elements of refereeing Walking Football and the differences between Walking Football and ‘mainstream’ football. They should also be able to demonstrate that they can apply the ‘Laws of Walking Football’ effectively.

The workshop will benefit both qualified 'mainstream' referees looking for something new, Walking Football players who are interested in becoming Walking Football referees, sports studies students looking to broaden their knowledge or people thinking about refereeing in a more relaxed environment.

Thanks to support of Glyndwr University and The Coalfields Regeneration Trust (Game On Wales) this course is free and available to anyone interested in supporting the growth and development of the walking football game in Wales.

Note: the practical element is outside on the 3G at Collier's Park, so please be prepared.

There is no catering onsite so participants will either need to bring their own food or travel into Gresford (5 minute drive).  Plenty of free parking.

Due to COVID regulations individuals must register in advance.

Before attending you should check for any Covid-19 symptoms. If you have any symptoms or are living in a household with possible or actual Covid-19 infection you must not participate or attend.  Participants are encouraged to sanitise hands before, after and during breaks in the session.
