University of South Wales Sport Park

Invitation

Welcome to CRT Game On Girls, Powered by The Coalfields Regeneration Trust, where girls, fall in love with football

CRT Game On Wales invite your school to participate in the CRT Game On Girls - all girls' primary school football festival - that forms part of our charities' 25th-anniversary celebration.

As the number of registered female football players reaches an all-time high, we're excited to deliver our introductory primary school football festival for girls to learn to love football in a safe, fun and friendly environment.

Parents and teachers told us that their girls love coming along to CRT Game On Girls festival because it’s fun, they can explore football with their friends and they learn new skills in a relaxed environment.

This annual festival:

  • Encourages girls in years 4, 5 & 6 to get active; improving the health and well-being of young people living in our former coal mining towns and villages.
  • Supports Football Association of Wales' Grassroots Strategy 2024-30 to 'increase the number of girls aged 5-11 experiencing fun & engaging football provision inside & outside of schools.  The Coalfields Regeneration Trust (CRT Game On Wales) is an 'Associate Member' of the Football Association of Wales.
  • Adopts engaging approaches to games i.e. retreat lines, game imbalance adaptations, and music, to ensure the experience is good for all - in line with the new Football Association of Wales Primary and SEN Schools Football Framework (ahead of launch on Sept 24).
  • Provides a first taste of football and for some a stepping stone to club football or local informal football opportunities specifically designed for girls.
  • Provides an opportunity to champion & strengthen our coalfield communities through football at the best indoor facility in the UK.

The 2023 Christmas edition attracted over 130 girls. We want to thank all schools that attended our previous festivals, we hope you enjoyed your time, we appreciate your support and would welcome you to the fabulous USW Sport Park in Treforest, RCT once again.
